Daniel has personally designed five nanosatellites (all launched) . He also acted as deputy project manager of the Venus Satellite for French space agency CNES, on behalf of Israel Aerospace Industries and was an Astronaut candidate for the European Space Agency in 2008.

Diego authored several patents and has received multiple awards both as an engineer and entrepreneur, including recognition from NASA for his contribution to the MSL-Curiosity mission.
