H&Z has won a procurement contract with BeetleSat, formerly NSLComm, a fast-growing satellite technology company building the world’s first global LEO constellation optimized for premium point-to-point communications.
BeetleSat’s LEO constellation will deliver exceptionally low-latency, high-throughput and cost-effective point-to-point secure communications, cellular backhaul, mobility and additional premium services, to the commercial and government sectors. Comprised of approximately 264 satellites equipped with proprietary Ka-band deployable antennas, the groundbreaking constellation promises to revolutionize the way satellite communication networks are designed and operated, providing customers with truly global Ka-band connectivity and increased flexibility at a fraction of the cost of traditional systems.
H&Z will be responsible for managing procurement for the BeetleSat constellation. H&Z has already played this role in other mega constellations. The procurement of space programmes is a key competence in H&Z’s portfolio of space solutions.
“We are delighted to support BeetleSat as its procurement agency in this exciting endeavor. With this new contract, H&Z positions itself as a reference company in the operational procurement of complex space systems at the cutting edge of technology” said Eduardo Bellido, H&Z Senior Advisor for space.
BeetleSat CEO, Patricio Northland commented, “As the builder of a game-changing LEO constellation, BeetleSat has complex procurement needs. H&Z brings not only deep expertise in space tech procurement, but also a track record of helping partners create long-term value in dynamic markets like ours.”
The first part of the activity includes the preparation of a procurement plan and the issuing of RFPs to industry, as well as the selection of the core team responsible for the development of the constellation. A team of H&Z employees with many years of experience in space, procurement and project management has been selected for this project.
